Pulmicort® (budesonide) is a prescription inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) used for the long-term maintenance treatment of asthma. Available in both a Flexhaler® dry powder inhaler and respules (inhalation suspension) for nebulization, Pulmicort helps reduce inflammation in the airways, making it easier to breathe and helping to prevent asthma symptoms like wheezing and shortness of breath. It's approved for use in children as young as 12 months (with the nebulizer form) and in patients 6 years and older for the Flexhaler.
